The Antichrist will change times. The word times can allude to changing the year , or the calendar. Islam uses a different calendar than modern western nations. We use a solar calendar that centers on Christ's birth. The Islamic calendar began in the year 622. The second interesting point is that the West, and most modern nations, use a solar calendar that consists of 365.25 days in a complete solar year. The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar with 354 or 355 days making a complete year. The third point involves the day of worship. Hindus worship on Thursday, Muslims on Friday, Jews on Saturday and traditional Christians on Sunday. Under Islamic rule only one day, Friday, would be chosen to worship Allah. Any global Islamic leader would set out to change the "times and laws," three ways: 1. By changing the calendar to an Islamic calendar. 2. By changing the year from 365.25 days to 354 or 355 days a year. 3. By changing the day of worship to Friday, the Islamic day of worship. This power to change times and laws is for a "time (one year), times (two years), and dividing of times (one half a year)," which totals 42 months (see Daniel 7:25, 12:7, and Revelation 12:13). He changes times and laws. While this could allude to the laws of Moses in the Torah, the Aramaic word here is dath , and in the context could allude to changing the religious laws. This interpretation agrees with the religious agenda of a global Islamic leader.
