If you are serious about your call to the prophetic, you will have already resolved that your readiness to serve in this ministry will subject you to some demanding requirements and unsettling lifestyle changes. A true prophet welcomes these as part of his grounding to fulfill God’s purpose and destiny for his life. If your organization follows the Bible’s historical pattern, it will have counseled you to arrange your life, responsibilities, and family to accommodate your prophetic education. This wisdom is germane to anyone who enters a serious career training or refinement program. Prophets with a definite call understand that God’s summons on their lives is all-consuming. They know the duties of the position for which they are trained will absorb a good part of their existence, and their families should be prepared for it. For this reason and many others, it is prudent to require your trainers to undergo your readiness process themselves so that they can coach others through it as they prepare to serve the Lord. To cultivate and keep a realistic view of the prophet’s ministry, learn to relish the opportunity to go beyond your historical limits and experiences and outdo your personal best at every stage of your development. Allow yourself to grow and soar as the Lord’s future prophet and resolve to become strong, capable, and indomitable in your faith and your skills. Recognize that a quality readiness program should bring out the best in a future messenger of the Lord. The opposite is that a quality program will also weed out those who are not up to the demands of the call. This is normal and necessary to ensure that the Lord ends up with the best of the best at His disposal. No matter how bumpy your initiation to prophetic training may be, over time you will settle down and merge fully with its character, attitude, and disposition if it is a good program. When you complete it, you will be transformed sufficiently enough to join the ranks of the long line of competent and quality prophets who have gone before you.
