The antichrist becomes an Islamic hero and he divides the city in half (pre-67 borders) 4. The antichrist ’s headquarters is moved from Babylonian region (Syria-Iraq) to Jerusalem

D . The antichrist will make “w ar against the saints ”

1. There is a debate as to whom these “saints” are. Are they the church or the Jews? 2. After Rev. chapters 2-3 the church is not mentioned again in Revelation by name 3. In Rev. 11:18, the Bema for the saints is occurring in heaven at the mid-tribulation point 4. In Rev. 7:14 , the tribulation “saints” who “made their robes white” are in heaven 5. In Dan. 7:24- 25 Daniel calls the Jews the “saints,” and these saints are the Jewish remnant

E. The antichrist will behead those who are not following him

1. Beheading is a practice in Islam and is encouraged in the Koran against infidels and blasphemers (that is, anybody who practices another religion, speaks against Islam, or converts from Islam to another religion)

THE ANTICHRIST WILL ARISE FROM THE MIDDLE EAST, BE A MUSLIM, AND COME FROM THE BABYLONIAN REGION

A. The Babylonian region will become the strongest region in the Middle East

1. According to Isaiah 17:1, Damascus, Syria will become a heap of rubble 2. According to Ezekiel 38:5, Persia will be impacted by a future war 3. Iraq sits between Syria and Persia, thus making this nation the key nation in the future

B. The a ntichrist initiates a “mark” on the head or the hand

1. On the seven heads of the dragon are “names of blasphemy.” 2. It is a spirit of antichrist that denies Jesus is the son of God (1 John 2:22) 3. In Islam, the faithful who p ray have the “marks of prostration” on their heads 4. In Islam, there are headbands worn by the radical groups (Al-Qaeda, the Mahdi Army, Hamas)

Note: The Islamic confession of faith states: “ I bear witness that there is no deity (god) other than Allah and that Mohammad is his servant and messenger. ”

Note: The ten kings also have the “names of blasphemy” on their heads (Rev. 17:3)
