C. The beast ’s “dead ly head wound” is healed ( Rev. 13:3)

1. We have heard the antichrist will be shot in the head and raised from the dead (this is not Biblical). 2. Some teach he will die and be resurrected as Christ was raised. 3. It reads, “One of his he ads; ” not “ his head ” (singular). A man has only one physical head. Heads refers to one of the seven previous empires that will be revived again.

D. The seven empires of prophecy

1. The Egyptian Empire 2. The Assyrian Empire 3. The Babylonian Empire 4. The Media-Persian Empire

- The nation of Egypt continues to exist - The nation of Syria continues to exist

- This empire has ceased

- The Persians are today ’s Iranians

5. The Grecian Empire 6. The Roman Empire

- The nation of Greece continues to exist - Italy and the city of Rome continue to exist

7. The Kingdom of iron/clay

- The possible reunification of the European Union; some identify as Islam and democracy

E. The eighth empire of prophecy (Rev. 17:11-13) is a revived Babylonian empire

1. One of the seven heads wounded to death is ancient Babylon (today it is located in Iraq) 2. Three of four empires have ruled from Babylon (Babylon, Media-Persia, and Greece) 3. Babylon was never overthrown, as it simply fell into ruin and was taken by Arab tribes

WHAT WILL THE ANTICHRIST DO?

A. The antichrist resurrects an ancient empire

1. This area would be the land of Babylon

a. It is the center of the 10/40 window b. It is the center where the Mahdi is expected to arise c. It is the land of Babel (Gen. 11) and Babylon (Dan. 1-12) d. It is the area of the Euphrates River

B. The antichrist will also take over three nations (Daniel 11:43-45)

1. This is clearly seen by Daniel

a. In Dan. 7:24, the antichrist will have ten kings aligned with formation of his kingdom b. In Dan. 7:24, the antichrist will uproot three of the ten kings in a battle c. In Dan. 11:43, the three uprooted are Egypt, Libya, and Ethiopia (The Northern horn of Africa) d. In Dan. 11:45, after seizing these nations he moves his armies toward Israel
