THE APOCALYPSE AND THE TEMPLE CODE

THE MYSTERY BEING FINISHED

 Some believe this is where the Rapture of the church occurs at the sound of the seventh trumpet  Some suggest this because the judgment of the believer is in the next chapter (11:18)  Some connect this seven th trumpet to Paul’s “last trump” in 1 Cor. 15:51 -52

Note: There is difference between the “last trump” (1 Cor. 15:51 -52) and the seventh trump (10:7)

 Corinthians was written in 53-57 AD and Revelation 10:7 about 95 AD (40 years later)  No one at Corinth asked Paul for an explanation because they knew what the “last trump” was  There are four trumpets blasts: the Tekia , the Shevarim , the Teruah, and the Tekiah Ha Gedolah

Note: Exodus 19 has the imagery of the Rapture. This trumpet blew “long and loud” (19:19 -20) Note: The “last trump” i s the longest and loudest of one hundred blasts on the Feast of Trumpets

 We read that “time will be no longer” (10:6), meaning no longer delayed  The earth is going to be judged for shedding innocent blood (Rev. 18:24 and 18:20)  Mystery Babylon (Rev. 17-18) will be the epicenter of the final judgment of God on the earth

Revelation chapters 4-11 will be the first 42 months of the Tribulation. One more event occurs!

THE TWO WITNESSES

Main verses : Revelation 11:1-6

A. The setting

1. These two appear at the first forty-two months of the tribulation 2. They assist in the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem 3. They also announce the plagues (as angels prepare each one in heaven)

B. The three Temples in Jerusalem

1 . Solomon’s Temple 2. The Second Temple 3. The Tribulation Temple

- 2 Chron. 3 - destroyed by the Babylonians; rebuilt by Ezra

- John 2:20

- destroyed by the Romans and never rebuilt

- Rev. 11:1-2 - rebuilt the first forty-two months of the tribulation

C. There are three New Testament references to the future tribulation Temple

1. Matt. 24:15 2. 2 Thess. 2:4 3. Rev. 11:1-2

- The abomination occurs in the holy place - The antichrist will sit in the Temple in Jerusalem

- The Temple is measured, but the outer court is not measured

This is not the Temple in Jerusalem in John’s day, as it was destroyed in 70 AD. It is not the Heavenly Temple, as no Gentile will trample the Temple in Heaven. This will be a rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem where the abomination takes place (Matt. 24:15-21). Once the church age is completed, the two witnesses minister for forty-two months, then the image of the beast is set up in Jerusalem.
