THE APOCALYPSE AND THE TEMPLE CODE

HOW CAN THE JEWS BUILD A TEMPLE?

 The mount is called in Arabic, Haram Al Sharif. It was expanded by Herod in 20 BC.  Underneath the mount are numerous arches and rooms that support what is above.  Old beams from the mosque were replaced (in the 1930s) and examined as 9 th century BC.  On Aug. 21 st , 1969, a fire was set by a tourist at the El Aqsa mosque.

A. There are four problems with building a Temple on the Mount

1. Muslims have had total control of the Mount for centuries – since 638 AD 2. There are two Islamic mosques on the Temple Mount (the Dome and Al Aqsa)

3. Muslims would never permit a Jew to build beside their mosque 4. Muslim law teaches that such property forever remains a mosque

B. Possible Scenarios

1. After the Gog and Magog war, the Muslims are completely defeated

a. Only a sixth of the Islamic coalition armies remain (Ezek. 39:2) b. It takes seven years to burn the weapons and seven months to begin burying the dead (39:9) c. With such a defeat, there is weak or almost no resistance to the Jewish Temple being built

2. The signed “covenant” of Daniel 9:27

a. The covenant with the Jews is signed for seven years (Dan. 9:27) and is false peace b. This could give the Jews a “legal contract” to build a T emple of worship on the mount c. Muslims worship on Friday, Jews on Saturday, and Christians on Sunday

3. It is possible that the prophet Elijah — one of the two witnesses — is involved in the matter

a. Elijah is said to return before the great and terrible day of the Lord (Mal. 4:5) b. Elijah must come and restore “all things” (Matt. 17:11)

C. How a Temple could be built

1. It has been discussed (but rejected by Muslims) to divide the mount into three sections 2. Today there is plenty of room north of the Dome to construct a Temple 3. The outer court will be “given to the Gentiles” (Rev. 11:2), so the Dome might remain there

D. I believe the rebuilding of the Temple is linked to the two witnesses

1. The first reference is in Zechariah 4:9-14

a. He saw the rebuilding of the Temple (in his day) and the prophetic future (Zech. 4:9) b. He saw “the two olive branches pouring out the golden oil” (Zech. 4:12) c. He saw the two “anointed ones standing before the God of the whole earth ” (Zech. 4:14) d. Most believe one witness is Elijah the other Moses or Enoch (Mal. 4:5)
