Prepare-for-War

when I am in distress. Recently, I experienced a situation that caused me much grief. I sought the Lord earnestly, but did not hear Him speak to me until after the situation had been resolved. I was not in rebellion against Him, rather, my prayer was, "Father thy will be done, I accept it whatev er it is." Later, the Lord showed me that my emotions were so intense that they blocked me from hearing Him, I asked, "What can I do to prevent this from happening again?" His answer was, "You cannot do anything, you cannot control your emotions. I just want you to ask Me, and I will take care of them for you." How simple the answer! If you are in an intensly emotional situation and seem to be unable to hear the Lord, perhaps it is because of one of these two reasons. Of course, the Lord talks to you more as you talk to Him more. It's like most other relationships, the Lord loves to have you talk to Him! Several years ago I asked the Lord what I, insignificant speck that I am, could do to minister to His heart in some small way. I said, "Father, you have such terrible burdens. You have the whole world and all of its troubles to look after. Is it possible for me to do anything to give you pleasure, or to minister to your heart?" His answer was, "Yes, talk to Me child! Talk to Me. Most people only ask Me for things. They aren't willing to talk to Me and make Me a part of their everyday life." That's what He wants, God desires to have our fellowship! So, as you go about your everyday activities, you are nor mally continuously thinking to yourself. Start thinking and talking with God instead. The Lord is interested in the smallest details of our lives and everything we do. Isn't that wonderful! He never gets bored with what we're doing. He never thinks that what we're doing is too insignificant for His attention. That's even more wonderful! The Lord is in terested in anything a housewife sews. He's interested in the fact that she makes a seam straight, and if she has trou ble with that, He's interested in helping her to make it
