Prepare-for-War
cannot read our minds, so if you're going on about your business and doing your household chores, or whatever, and talking to the Lord silently in your mind, Satan cannot know what you are thinking. The only thing Satan or his demons know to do is to throw negative thoughts into your mind. Such as, thoughts which make you dissatisfied with your situation, or angry at other people around you, etc. But the Holy Spirit knows every thought and can answer you according to your current train of thought. Many people ask if they should be quiet and wait for the Lord to speak to them. No, because t.be Holy Spirit is so powerful He can over-ride your thoughts. He does for me, and also for many others that I know. There is a great danger in a tendency to empty your mind of all thoughts, waiting for the Lord to speak to you. Always remember, if you don't control your mind, Satan will/ NEVER blank out your mind. A blanked mind is an open doorway for the entrance ofdemons. There are times, however, when we are most desperate to hear the Lord, when He seems to stop talking altogether. This frequently happens to me when I am in the middle ofa crisis. I have sought the Lord for the reason for His silence during those times. There are two main reasons. Often, the Lord remains silent because He wants to stimulate us to seek Him more diligently. The Psalms are a good example of this. Over and over again, David cries out to the Lord in desperation, but has to wait for an answer. He eloquently describes this situation in the following Psalm:
"Unto thee will I cry, 0 Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down in to the pit." Psalm 28:1
This is just one of many, many examples in the Psalms. The Lord is always drawing us into a closer relationship with Him. Many times He holds back from answering us because He wants us to seek Him more earnestly. There is one other reason for my not hearing the Lord
