Prepare-for-War

"Pavulon! How the devil would Pavulon get into Elaine's I.V.?" "That's just it," Rebecca thought, "you don't know just how much the 'devil' is involved in all this!" Quietly she said, "I don't know, Jerry, but what do we have to lose? The pyridostigmine won't hurt her and if it works then we'll have a lot of answers." "Yeah, and a lot more questions, too! Oh, O.K., what have we to lose, let's try the pyridostigmine," Jerry said with a shrug of his shoulders. Everyone in the room waited with bated breath as Jerry slowly injected the drug into Elaine's I.V. Within a few seconds she started to move and breathe on her own. Tears started flowing down her cheeks - she could not speak, however, because of the endotracheal tube in her throat going down into her lungs. The experi ence of suddenly being paralyzed and then finally losing consciousness because of not being able to breathe had been a horrifying one. Shocked expressions were on all the faces of the doctors and nurses. Quickly they seemed to melt out of the room, unwilling to get involved in the situation. If any of them were asked about the incident later, they would deny it ever happened. That's the way it is in the medical world. - Jerry looked up at Rebecca, "You were right! I know there's a lot more to this situation than meets the eye, and what's more, I don't want to know what's going on! I just want to get Elaine out of here. How in the world did you

happen to be here at the right time anyway?" "The Lord told me," Rebecca answered simply.

"Somehow I knew that would be your answer," Jerry said, "but let me give you a piece of advice, don't go saying that 'the Lord told me' stuff to anyone else around here. They'll lock you up and throw away the key. You know how crazy that sounds, Rebecca. Do you really believe the Lord talks to you?"
