closed the pharmacology book the Lord spoke to her again, this time with urgency. "Now get back to the hospital because someone is right now starting to put Pavulon into Elaine's LV." Rebecca grabbed up her keys and raced out the door. She lived about two minutes from the hospital. She ran from her car all the way up the stairs to Elaine's room. Sure enough, when she arrived she found Elaine blue from lack of oxygen, not breathing. She called the emergency code and the nurses came running with the emergency cart. In happened that Elaine's private physician, Jerry (not his real name) was down in the Emergency Room seeing a patient. When Jerry heard the room number of the code being paged over the hospital intercom, he realized it was for Elaine's room and came running. By the time Jerry arrived, Rebecca and the other doctors of the code team had placed a tube down Elaine's throat into her lungs and were using an apparatus to breathe for her called an Ambu bag. "What in the world is going on?" was Jerry's question. "I don't know," Rebecca replied, "I found Elaine blue and not breathing. She still isn'tbreathing." "I can see that, but why?" Jerry ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "I've never seen anything like it! It's one thing after another, and no explanation for any of her problems!" Rebecca hesitated, wondering just how much she should say. Finally, she decided to speak out what was in her mind. "Look, Jerry, I know this sounds crazy, but these episodes where Elaine stops breathing look just like a patient who re ceives Pavulon or something similar. Why don't we try some pyridostigmine?"
