ance do the reading. Prayer, praise, and God's word are wonderful weapons. Fasting Many people ask about fasting before a deliverance, making reference to the following scripture:

"Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and (CUJting." Matthew 17:19-21

Preparation for a deliverance by prayer and fasting is very important for both the deliverance worker and the person being delivered. However, I do not recommend fasting the day of, or prior to, a deliverance. Both the workers and the person being delivered need strength, physically as well as spiritually. I recommend an increased protein intake for 24 to 48 hours prior to a deliverance. We need to be continually prepared by regular prayer and fasting as the Lord directs in our daily lives. Not just before a special event such as a deliverance. . P a s s i v i t y As I began to work with many people after Elaine's deliverance, the Lord began rapidly impressing upon me the need to deal with passivity in the people I was trying to help. The natural desire of most people is to remain passive and let you deal with all their problems. It is very easy to fall into that trap. For the past several years I have very rarely commanded a demon to come out of someone. Instead I have taught them how to command the demons to leave themselves. I, and those with whom I have worked, have been more "coaches" and supporters than anything else. I have found that people whom I coach to kick the demons out of them
