Prepare-for-War

I was working with a group involved in the deliverance of a young woman who had been very deeply involved in the occult. They had been in a deliverance session for several hours with this young woman. Finally all of them felt that they were dealing with the last demon, but for more than an hour, he just refused to leave. He kept telling them that he could not leave unless they opened up the door. They called me for advice. I felt, as did they, that the demon was lying, especially be cause they had anointed and sealed the room prior to start ing the deliverance to prevent any outside interference. We all felt that the demon was trying to get them to open the door to let other demons into the room. However, from the glimpses God has given me of the workings of Satan's kingdom, I had no doubt that this demon was one of the weaker ones, and that he was being threatened by the other demons with all sorts of torture if he left the girl. So, I sug gested that the people pray out loud and petition God, that if it be His will, that He provide safe passage for the demon out of the area so that the others could not torture it. Please note, we left the decision in the Lord's hands, be cause only He can see through the demon's lies. They did as I suggested and the demon left immediately. Many times you must leave decisions regarding the demon's "'fate" in the Lord's hands because He sees the whole situation, we do not. Demons weaken rapidly in the presence of praise. Singing songs of praise and lifting up prayers of praise and thanks giving is often very helpful in weakening the demons. Also, don't forget the power in the word of God. Read and quote scripture out loud. Two portions of scripture demons can't stand is the 18th chapter of Revelation about the fall of Babylon and the last two chapters of Revelation about the new heaven and new earth.
