deliverances fail because infiltrating satanists are present posing as Christians. While a Christian is trying to deal with the demons in a person, the satanists are bombarding them from behind with demons, and trying to block the deliverance. Such situations usually end in disaster. General Procedure As I stated before, only the Lord can indicate to you how to proceed in each individual case. The Holy Spirit works so differently in each case that you will not have an opportunity to become dependant upon a ritual instead of the Lord. Let me give you an example from my own experience in a recent deliverance. Janice (not her real name) had been tormented by demons for over eight years. She had been sexually molested as a child, got involved in the occult in her teens and later she was brutally beaten and abused by her husband. Eight years before I met her, she made Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior, at which time her husband left her. She thought her troubles had ended then, but they were just starting. As soon as she accepted the Lord, the demons started to torment her. She sought for deliverance for eight years. She endured many deliverance sessions and much guilt because none of these were successful. Always she was told that she must have some unconfessed sin in her life so that the demons did not have to leave. Now, that is often the case, but sometimes the problem is also in the lives of the deliverance workers rather than in the life of the person seeking deliverance. Elaine and I were in contact with Janice for a period of four months before the Lord gave us permission to help her. When we received permission, we invited Janice and the older Christian lady with whom she lived, to come stay with us for a weekend. I sought the Lord earnestly in prayer that week as to how we should proceed. Finally, the morning of Janice's arrival, the Lord spoke to me and told me that we were not to do anything.
