We were to just fellowship together and lift up His name. He would take care of the demons, silently and gently. Janice arrived in a very apprehensive state, wondering if she was in for another traumatic session. She was overjoyed when I told her about the guidance I had received from the Lord. We did as the Lord commanded, and He kept His promise. Each morning when Janice woke up she felt lighter. By the last day of the three-day weekend, she was completely free from all demons. The Lord is so gracious, He knew Janice could not handle another traumatic deliver· ance session. Our Lord is so loving and kind! I cannot emphasize enough the need for intensive prayer, seeking the Lord's guidance before attempting to start a deliverance. One thing for sure, always start a deliverance with prayer. Then, if they have not already done so, have the person desiring deliverance make a positive statement in their own words as to who they serve. Make them define the "Jesus" they serve according to the Bible and have them renounce and reject anything they have received from Satan. The physical surroundings of the room should be comfortable. I usually ask ladies to wear slacks or culottes to maintain modesty. It is best if everyone present sits in an upright chair. This not only helps to maintain alertness, but provides ease of movement. I have found it is not neces· sary to use a lot of physical contact such as holding the person down. You should control the demons by binding them, and demand that the person being delivered also con trol the demons. If they are totally unable to control them, they probably won't be able to keep the demons out afterwards. Often, physical contact excites the demons, causing unne cessary manifestations, and sometimes opens doors for lust. There should not be physical contact between people of opposite sexes except for anointing with oil. Remember, demons will use everything they can. Lust and even illu·
