Prepare-for-War

I will call John and Ann (not their real names). John knew that his wife was a Christian, yet when they had fights, Ann would say and do some of the most ungodly things imaginable. She would scream profanity at the top of her lungs, continually slam her head against the wall and say some of the most cutting and hateful things to John that she could think of. On many occasions John seriously con sidered quitting the ministry because of Ann's problems. Once the fights were over and Ann had "cooled down," she would come sobbing to John begging him to forgive her. She would say that she really didn't mean any of those things and didn't know why she had said them. That excuse worked for the first few fights, but as the years rolled on· and the wicked, hateful slams got worse and worse their marriage began to deteriorate. Counseling didn't help. Prayer and fasting didn't help. Nothing helped. When I met John he was extremely frustrated and desperate to find help for his wife. After talking to him for awhile searching for doorways, he mentioned that his wife's mother behaved in exactly the same way toward her husband. That was the key. Ann had inherited her mother's demons. That is why so many children turn out to be just like their parents with the same problems. When I told him what I thought his wife's problem was he immediately raced home, anointed her, prayed over her, commanded any demons of inheritance to leave and he closed and sealed any of those doorways with the blood of Jesus Christ. A short time later he called to tell me that the change in Ann's life was unbelievable. At last she was able to begin developing the relationship with God that she had always wanted. She began devouring God's Word, her atti tude changed, people even remarked that her countenance had changed. John knew however that the acid test would be when they had their first disagreement. When it finally came, the change was miraculous. She handled the incident like a true Christian. No yelling and screaming. No
