Prepare-for-War

I want to use this scripture to illustrate Satan's # 1 most fre quent and successfully used attack against Christians. First, let me take you back several years in my own life and give a brief summary of the events which led up to my un derstanding of this particular scripture. After I finished my residency in internal medicine and criti cal care, I opened a medical practice in a small town about 60 miles from the city in which Elaine was initiated into Satanism. Over the next three years life was intense. Elaine was ill continuously, often bedfast with many hospitalizations. I made many contacts during that time and was privileged to bring close to a thousand people out of hard-core Satanism. We ran sort of an underground railroad. We lived out in the country so we hid people out in our barn, in a small apartment attached to our garage, and also in a up stairs apartment over my office. Every penny I made went to help these people with food, clothing, transportation out of the state, medical care and so on. I averaged 3-4 hours of sleep per night. Towards the end of that time the battle escalated, becoming even more intense. In His perfect will, the Lord allowed the satanists to be the instrument of my mother's death. She was my closest friend and ally, a spunky 74 year old lady who worked in my office as my receptionist. What a ministry of love and prayer she had! She died suddenly one Christmas. Within a month my father had had major surgery and was partially paralyzed from the waist down, so he came to live with me. Elaine was by then in a semi-coma from her leukemia and was totally bedfast for over 6 months. I cared for her ahd my father at home in addition to running a busy practice and helping those coming out of Satanism. Many other events happened which I do not have the space to detail here, but this will give you a partial understanding of the pressure I was under.
