Prepare-for-War
But, never does the Holy Spirit lay guilt on a Christian for some sin which has been confessed and forgiven. Demons frequently do both. 2. Demons frequently try to establish their credibility by telling someone incidents from their past which no one else in the room would know. Demons know everything that has happened in our lives except the thoughts and intenĀ· tions of our hearts. They also have had almost 6,000 years of practice in dealing with humans. They can pretty well guess what is going on in someone's mind given any partic ular set of circumstances. Remember, the Holy Spirit never shows off. He always draws attention to Jesus. A recounting of past incidents or feelings in a person's life is a very common trait of demons. That is what the occultic clairvoyants and mediums do. 3. The Holy Spirit always gives you time to check out any directions He gives you. Demons push you to act in a hurry before you have time to check the directions with God's word. We must be careful to seek the Lord for confirmation and check everything out against the Bible before we accept any prophecies or words of knowledge as being from the Lord. Our wonderful God wants to speak to each one of us individually. We have only one priest, Jesus Christ. The fre quent seeking of "a word from the Lord" through another person is evidence of poverty in a person's own relationship with the Lord. We must develop a relationship with the Lord whereby we hear Him speaking directly to us. God is the only one we can rely on, we are heading into serious trouble if we rely on other human beings to tell us what God wants. That leads to the development of a priesthood which is an abomination in the eyes ofGod. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." I Timothy 2:5
