Prophecy and Words ofKnowledge How much damage Satan has done in this area, both direct ly through his own servants and through Christians who unwittingly open themselves up to his power! Too many Christians think that they must "blank out" their minds so that the Holy Spirit can speak through them, or "control" them. Do we think the Holy Spirit is so weak that He cannot over-ride our active minds to speak to us? The Bible clearly shows us that we are to actively cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Any time we blank out our minds, the spirit speaking through us is most likely not the Holy Spirit. Many so-called prophecies given by people who blank out their minds, are actually demonic prophecies. We are never to accept a word of knowledge or prophecy without seeking confirmation from the Lord as to its true source and searching the scriptures to see if it is in agree ment with God's word. "Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge." I Corinthians 14:29 This scripture shows us that the prophets are to be "judged," or tested. There are a few keys that help us recog nize demonic words of knowledge and prophecy. 1. Never is a human being glorified by the Holy Spirit.
