2. Do the miracles take place in such a manner as to bring attention to the person through whom they are worked? The Holy Spirit has one goal in mind, to bring glory to Jesus Christ. He never works in a way to bring glory to a human being, which brings up another point. Does the person doing the miracle use his "vocation" to make money above his basic needs? If so, then he is not a true servant of God. 3. What is the long range result of the healing or miracle? Is the person drawn closer to the Lord, demonstrated by obedience to God's commands and a hunger after God's word? Or do they simply rejoice briefly and then go on with their life as usual? Each time a miracle is recorded in Acts, the people rejoiced and served the Lord as a result. Many Christians open themselves up to demons through a lusting for miracles. Ministers who teach signs and wonders fall into error by teaching that God alw.ays wants to do such signs and get into the trap of having to "make" God perform every time and place they speak on the subject. God is just as capable of healing in a quiet and private manner as He is in an open public meeting with lots of at tention given to the people involved. Don't get caught up in "Christian" show-biz! I have met countless. people whose faith has been ship wrecked by false servants of God telling them that they have not received a miraculous healing because they lack faith, or because there must be sin in their life. Unfortunately, the example given by Job's three "friends" is being followed by many in the Christian church today. Job's three friends said that Job experienced all his troubles because of some sin in his own life. They foolishly knew nothing of what had gone on in heaven between Satan and the Lord just prior to the tragedies. The Bible is very clear that Job did not sin in any way to bring about his troubles.
