Prepare-for-War
"A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed." Matthew 16:4
"A wicked and adulterous generation" certainly describes the current state of our world. Too many seek only for relief from their problems rather than for God's will in their lives. We must be careful that our desire for ease and relief from pain or whatever, does not lead us into accepting miracles from the wrong source.
"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders; to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things." Mark 13:22-23
We most certainly have a miracle-working God. However, too many Christians simply assume that any and all miracles are from God. They are making a terrible mistake! Scripture is clear. Demons can heal. They can produce false manifes tations of every work of the Holy Spirit and they are work ing mightily in this way in these last days. It is well known that Buddist priests, African witch doctors, American Indian medicine men, and others in many parts of the world, are able to effect miraculous cures. Now the New Age with its Westernized version of Hinduism is offer ing us an amazing variety of demonic miracles. And the Roman Catholic Church certainly is not far behind in miracles. Even the "stigmata," a false demonic miracle ac cepted over the years in the Catholic Church, has come to be accepted by some Christian churches, especially within the Charismatic Movement. How are we to sort out all of these false miracles from the real ones? Often the only way is to ask the Lord directly to give us guidance. But there are a few keys we can look for. 1. Are the healings, etc., performed whenever the person with the supposed gift chooses? God heals only when He chooses, not when we choose!
