Prepare-for-War
This was addressed to Christians. Can you think of a better description of demons than "filthiness?" Jesus cleanses us from our sins so that we become joint heirs with Him. But we must take up the power and authority that we now have through Jesus Christ and "cleanse ourselves" of "filthi ness" or demons. As soon as we accept Christ, the demons are trespassers and have no right to remain in us unless we give them legal ground to do so through sin and/or ignorance. I do not find any scripture to validate this belief. This scrip ture shows us that our spirits can indeed be affected by demons, otherwise we would not be commanded to cleanse our spirits from filthiness. Elaine had given the demons legal ground to come into her. So, it was up to her to use the power and authority available to her once she made Jesus Christ her Lord and Master, to re-take that ground and kick them out. The Lord provided me to help her do so. I, personally, have never been commanded by the Lord to cast a demon out of anyone who was not already a Christian because I would clearly not be benefiting them. This is be cause the demons would have free access to return with many more demons and the person would be worse off than he was in the beginning. The only cases in which I have commanded demons to come out of a non-Christian is in young children. They are a special case, however, as they have not yet reached an age of accountability in God's eyes. However, I am fully aware that Jesus cast the demons out of a man in the land of the Gadarenes. That man was ob viously not a Christian. However, he certainly became one, as evidenced by his desire to follow Jesus afterwards. I am
