When neither of these things happened, they were amazed and thought the power he demonstrated was godlike. Not only this, but the leader of this island, Publius, also treated Paul and his companions with great respect and honor. He entertained them and received them courteously for three days. Therefore, there was no hindrance when Publius's father needed to be healed of dysentery. Then the healing just began to trickle down to everyone who was sick on the island. The giving of honor flowed from the top. The leader of this island knew how to treat guests. He honored them first, and the healings began to flow. But it didn't stop there.
