Prayers That Activate Blessings

You are under a new covenant when you have accepted Christ's sacrifice for you and submit your life under His authority. But when you reject Christ and His sacrifice, you reject His new covenant and the very shalom you are looking for—just as the children of Israel rejected Him when He came. In Luke 19:41-42, Jesus cried over Jerusalem because He knew that if they rejected Him, they would not experience shalom but instead experience the sword. He knew that the enemy would build a trench around them and would besiege them on every side, and not one stone would be left upon another. War, famine, poverty, pestilence, and death were coming. When you reject Jesus, you reject your only hope for peace and prosperity. You must understand how much God wants to bless His people with peace. He is the God of peace. He is Jehovah Shalom. He is the Lord our prosperity. But Israel couldn't see what was right in front of their eyes and missed it. So now this blessing belongs to the new covenant church. We inherit the promise of shalom— prosperity, favor, peace, health, and safety—because we are the ones who through the blood of Jesus enter into a new covenant with God. What Israel could not receive in the natural we receive in the spirit. It now belongs to you! Covenant means faithfulness. Husband and wife have to be faithful to one another.
