Opening the Gates of Heaven Perry Stone
Jesus gave a unique promise to a person who would forsake family to travel preaching the gospel. In an unusual passage He taught that the person who would forsake the security of home and family to obey Him would receive houses, lands, brothers, and sisters in this life, and eternal life in the world to come.
So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. —M ARK 10:29–30
Just what does this passage allude to? How can I fully obey God and receive this compounded blessing of a hundredfold return in this life, with persecutions, and in the life to come, eternal life? Jesus mentioned receiving houses, lands, brothers, and sisters (notice He speaks in the plural and not the singular). I presently own one house. I have one natural brother and two natural sisters, and I only own one piece of property where our home sits. I only have one mother and father, yet Jesus spoke of
