receiving “mothers, sisters, and houses.” So how can I receive houses and lands by obeying the Lord? The following illustration may help interpret this unique promise. After more than thirtyfive years of preaching I have personally met thousands of people who have become my spiritual family. Today I could start out in Maryland and travel to Florida, stopping every twenty five to fifty miles to eat and sleep in the home of one of our personal friends or ministry partners. More than sixty thousand people have been converted to Christ through our ministry. Therefore I am a spiritual father to thousands of brothers (men) and sisters (women) in the Lord who have been converted to Christ during more than thirtyfive years of ministry. Because of their love for me, my wife, and our children, they would open their homes and allow us to spend the night, feed us, then send us on our journey. Therefore, we have hundreds of partners who are our “brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers,” and their homes would become our home. Christ had personal friends like Mary, Martha, and Lazarus who owned a home where He would stop between His evangelistic crusades to eat and be refreshed (Luke 10:38–42). The apostle Paul traveled the world and was fed and housed by believers in the cities where he ministered (Phil. 2:25).
