assault from the adversary, Job was stricken with boils and endured severe physical trauma (Job 2:7). From the moment of his attack, Job sought for answers to the enigma of why the righteous suffer. Three friends visited Job during his loss and engaged in a long discussion about life, faith, and suffering. It is evident that Job was seeking God for a divine revelation to his dilemma. As we read the narrative, there are some eye-opening passages that reveal how God speaks to men.

Now a word was secretly brought to me, And my ear received a whisper of it. In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on men,

Fear came upon me, and trembling, Which made all my bones shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; The hair on my body stood up. It stood still, But I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes; There was silence.
