At the beginning of this chapter I posed a question that was asked me by a person with a smoking habit: “Can smoking hinder my prayers from being answered?” According to Scripture, I do know that unrepentant sin and iniquity will most certainly impact your prayer life, as we read: “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear” (Ps. 66:18). In reading the New Testament approach to God through prayer, the one thing that does and will hinder your prayer life is your lack of confidence in your prayer through a spirit of condemnation. We read: My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
