CAGES & CURSES Ring . .. Ring . .. Ring . .. Rebecca fumbled in the dark motel room for the phone. Ring ... Tm coming, I’m com ing," she muttered. Finally she found the phone. Betty’s voice was on the other end. "I’m sorry to bother you, but I think you should know what’s going on." "What time is it?" Rebecca asked, reaching for the light. "Well, it’s ten o’clock here," was Betty’s response. Rebecca clicked on the light and looked at her watch. "Yeah, well it’s one a.m. here. What’s going on?” Rebecca and Elaine were in the eastern part of the U.S. on a speaking engagement. They had been asleep only one hour. Just long enough to make it very hard to wake up. They were both exhausted as they were nearing the end of a grueling week of seminars. "Esther and I were over at your house this evening. I am very concerned about the couple Sara (not her real name) has staying there." Rebecca was still a bit fuzzy with sleep. "What do you mean? Sara knows that when she is house sitting for us she isn’t supposed to let anyone into the house without our personal permission."
