The girls shouted for joy, praising and thanking the Lord for His wonderful work. Then they all went to bed and slept in peace the rest of the night. Rita and Sue had learned a rather severe lesson. They had refused to memorize scripture. When they needed it the most, they did not have it available to them. They could not turn on lights to read a Bible. The Word of God is a sword. It is very powerful. The ONLY way to have it constantly available to you is to MEMORIZE it. Would YOU the reader have had God’s Word in your memory had you been there?
