Becoming A Vessel Of Honor Rebecca Brown
222 before. This increased his guilt, depression, drinking, and the whole vicious cycle. After graduation from high school, Sam was enrolled in a Christian college where he planned to study to become a pastor. He cut off his contact with his homosexual partners during the summer before college and started attending the extra Bible study in an effort to put an end to his problem. It was in August, one month before Sam was due to leave for college, that the demons appeared to him. After listening to Sam’s story, I knew we were facing two major problems. Demons had come into Sam through the suicide attempt, drunkenness, and homosexual acts, of course. But, WHERE did the homosexual urges come from in the first place? Clearly from a demon within Sam, but what was the doorway? The second problem was this. Sam clearly had a special call ing by God. But from all Sam said, I was not convinced that he was even saved. I cannot count the number of people who come to me for counseling who have been raised in Christian homes and attended Christian churches all of their lives who are NOT saved. They just assume that they are! First things first. I challenged Sam. "Sam, ifyou were to drop dead this very moment, where would you go —heaven or hell?" He paused a moment and said soberly, "Well, I HOPE I would go to heaven." There was my answer. Sam wasn’t saved, just as I suspected. I went on to question him further. 'Tell me Sam, did you give an answer to those demons?"
