Americans were confused. The nation became patriotic, but did not repent of the sins of murder, abortion, addictions and unbelief. The rise in patriotism caused a "feel-good goose-bump" sensation to warm the hearts of Americans. Yet, we may have missed the point. A few blocks from the Trade Center and the New York Stock Exchange sits a brass bull. For seven straight years the "bull market" took charge as money was made, almost without effort. But people continued to sin. The enemies of America will strike in our homeland again. In fact, there will be a series of strikes spaced over a period of time that will impact our nation. This is why it is important for our national leaders to be men and women of faith! We must have leaders who are not ashamed to seek God and ask for the nation to pray. Our hope as a nation of people lies in the blessed promise God gave to Israel: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). It is the responsibility of those who have a covenant with God to stand in the gap and repent for the sins of the nation. God said, "If My people," not "If sinners." Terror attacks can be thwarted and evil plans exposed through prayer. Throughout history, God has established a place of refuge in times of adversity. America has been blessed to be a safe haven and our enemies despise this. Yet, as we
