The possibility for a massive terrorist attack is now so great that some Americans live with an apprehension of the future. This may be what Jesus alluded to when he predicted: Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming to pass upon the earth (Luke 21:26). The rise in heart failure would be a result of what will be coming to pass and not what has previously occurred. Small pox, anthrax, Ebola, mustard gas, and nuclear weapons are words that create mental images of violent suffering, panic and sudden death. Each of these items can presently be made into weapons used to strike the nation. When God allowed the ungodly masses to be punished in Noah's day, He unleashed a huge volume of water, a universal flood. When he permitted the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, fire and brimstone from an underground explosion near the Dead Sea became the "weapon." Both times Jerusalem fell into the hands of her enemies, the city was consumed with fire. Again, the question is not will America be hit again, but what will we do the next time?
