Therefore, as asinine as this Court decision was, we really shouldn't be surprised by it or its timing. America is still recovering from one of its most tragic times, and many Americans are wondering how the God of the Bible factors into this. Even so, in spite of the severity of our national crisis, those who are offended by the message of the Bible will not cease their attempts to remove that message from our classrooms and city halls. It is absolutely amazing that atheism has been so successful in rewriting the history of America. By and large, they have convinced Americans that this nation's founders never wanted God and politics to share the same space. Yet, as we have already noted, America's founding fathers acknowledged that this nation was indebted to God on a colossal scale. They understood the only way to honor the debt was to honor Him as our Sovereign Protector, to adopt the principles of His Word as the basis of our society and to make His laws the law of the land. George Washington is quoted as saying, No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand, which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States. Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency....
