how the bomb did no more damage than it did. We also know that in the days just before January 1, 2000, at least two Islamic operatives were stopped at two different gateways into the nation. At least one of those stopped was presumed to be the key to a ring of terrorists operating within the U.S. Yet, despite all this and countless acts of Islamic terror, few Americans took the time to understand the teachings of Islam or appreciate the deadly menace growing among Muhammad's most devout followers. Only in the aftermath of 9/11 did the average American hear so much about Islam, and what they heard was questionable at the least. There have been other warnings throughout the years that emanated, not from governmental agencies, but from pulpits across America and the world. For at least the past 25 years, Dave Wilkerson has been warning Americans that soon God would allow tragedy to shake this nation. In one book, he described how the city of New York would be in flames. Many other men and women of God have described visions or dreams in which New York was under attack and in flames. Whether the attacks of September 11 are the fulfillment of these visions is debatable, but to say that America wasn't warned would be false. The Scripture declares that, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7). This should not be interpreted to mean that God initiated the attacks, but that through His watchmen He has been warning this nation that we have been found wanting on the scales of His justice.
