The Antichrist will show no mercy to those who oppose his rule and his religion. The avenue of punishment will be to behead those who resist him. In anger and wrath he will take lives. In the beginning, he made a peace treaty with many (Daniel 9:27), and at the end of his rule, he will go forth to destroy many. The blood of Christian martyrs will become the seed that will bring the wrath of God upon the earth, and, eventually, destruction to the Beast kingdom. P HASE 5: C ONTROL ALL BUYING AND SELLING And he causeth all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name (Revelation 13:16, 17). Prophecy indicates an extensive famine during the final seven years prior to Christ's return (Revelation 6:5-6). This famine will impact entire nations and continents, thus creating the need for food rationing. Forty-two months into the tribulation, a controlled system of buying and selling will be introduced by a religious leader, identified as the false prophet (Revelation 16:13; 19:20).
