And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him." Scholars indicate the glorious holy mount is Jerusalem or Mount Moriah. The word seas alludes to the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean Sea (Jerusalem is positioned between these two seas). Scripture says, "Then shall be a time of trouble" (Daniel 12:1), or "great tribulation" (Matthew 24:21). At this time the words of Daniel 11:39 will be fulfilled, "He shall divide the land for gain." The Palestinians will be given the land they are demanding. Then, the predictions from the Koran and the Haddith will be reality. The Muslims will be permitted to "kill the swine (Jews) and destroy the cross" (anything representing Christianity). This one man will turn against the Jews with a vengeance. Anyone who receives Christ during this season will be added to the Antichrist's hit list. Thankfully, this time of trouble will only last for 42 months. It will be interrupted by the return of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. The peace treaty will be signed with Israel for one prophetic week, which is seven years (Daniel 9:27) The Beast and his armies invade Jerusalem in the middle of the seven years, known as mid-tribulation (Revelation chapters l: and 13). He reigns from Jerusalem during the final half of the seven years and will be defeated by Christ who returns at the end of the seven years (Revelation 19:11-18).
