and make their new religious headquarters in Jerusalem. With Jerusalem as the new "Mecca," there will be no need for traditional "Roman Christianity;" therefore Rome will be burned with fire in one hour (see Revelation chapters 17 and 18). Since Rome, Italy, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church and Rome represents historic Christianity, the beast and his boys will have no remorse in destroying the last symbol of the Christian faith on earth. This is alluded to in Revelation 17:16: And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast ... shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. P ERSECUTION U NLIKE A NY O THER T IME The Beast kingdom will instigate the greatest season of persecution against Jews and those who convert to Christianity that has ever been in world history. This will produce the greatest number of religious martyrs in history (Revelation 6:9-11). Numerous prophecies speak of this time: But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to
