The Male as Visionary and Leader

God both created and designed the male to be a leader. Remember the principle? You are the way you are because of why you are. Therefore, the male already has leadership qualities within him. However, he needs to rediscover the characteristics of leadership so that he can work on develop ing his God-given qualities and become an effective leader.

Characteristics of a Leader

1. Strong and Courageous

The male has been designed to take risks and meet challenges. God often gives men assignments that seem too big for them — and they are. They can be accomplished only through God‘s help. Yet the qualities of courage, strength, and daring enable men to take the necessary steps of faith that bring God‘s intervention. The Lord said to Joshua, “Be strong and courageous, b e cause you will lead” (Josh. 1:6). It‘s impossible to be the leader of the family and of society if you are not strong and courageous. And Joshua had a family of three million people! God gave this young Israelite a job designed for a man. God added something to His command to Joshua. He said, ―Be careful to obey all the commands.‖ (See verse 7.) A strong man has to be submitted to God‘s authority. No man can be strong if he is not accountable to someone else. A real man doesn‘t ignore authority. He remains in the garden of God‘s presence, praying and reading God‘s Word, so that he may understand and obey His commands. Some men take their courage and strength and use them recklessly. When a man turns from God, takes his life into his own hands, and doesn‘t combine courage with common sense, he can cause himself and his family many problems. True courage and strength come only through confidence in the faithfulness of God and belief in His Word. 2. Obedient to God’s Commands

3. A Logical Thinker

To be a leader, you have to be a logical thinker and keep a clear mind. You have to identity what the specific problems
