slay him. (Psa. 37:32) Watcheth is the Hebrew word tsaphah . This is the same word translated watchman. This means there is an evil watch. The enemy watches for openings (broken hedges and gaps) to enter. These gaps must be filled through shamar prayer and intercession. They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. (Psa. 56:6) Mark is the word shamar meaning to lay in wait. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity...They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? (Psa. 64:2,5) We need to be hidden from the secret counsel of the wicked and be protected and delivered from the secret snares of the enemy. The wicked have waited for me to destroy me... (Psa. 119:95) Waited is the Hebrew word qavah meaning to expect, look patiently, wait for. The enemy waits for any opportunity to enter. The wicked desire to destroy the righteous. The wicked can refer to wicked people or wicked spirits. God does not leave his people defenseless. He has provided protection and deliverance for his people. The shamar anointing has been provided to shield us from the attacks of the enemy.
