F. Satan gives the antichrist his authority (Rev. 13:2)

1. There has always been a spirit of antichrist (1 John 2:18) 2. There is a man who will be the final antichrist of prophecy (1 John 2:22) 3. This man will make a treaty with Israel for seven years (Dan. 9:27) 4. This man will break the treaty and invade Israel (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 13) 5. There will be ten kings and their kingdoms will be given to him for forty-two months (Rev. 17-18)

G. Both Daniel and John saw the same images of the beast

1. Both saw a final period of seven years

a. Daniel identified the time frame as one prophetic week (7 years) in Dan. 9:27 b. John divided the seven years into 42 months and 42 months (Rev.11:2; 13:5)

2. Both saw a final forty-two months of world history

a. Daniel saw a time (one year), times (2 years) and dividing of time, (half of a year) - (Dan. 12:7) b. John said the final time frame would be 1, 260 days -3 ½ years (Rev. 11:3, 12:6)

3. Both identified the a ntichrist as a “beast”

a. Daniel saw the antichrist as the fourth beast that would arise (Dan. 7:7) b. John saw the antichrist as the beast rising up from the sea (Rev. 13:1)

4. Both reveal a time of great trouble on earth

a. Daniel said it was a time such as never was, nor ever shall be (Dan. 12:1) b. John described a time of wrath and trouble (Rev. 13:7-10)

5. Both prophets saw Michael the archangel

a. Daniel saw Michael standing up at the time of trouble (Dan. 12:1) b. John saw Michael warring with Satan in heaven (Rev. 12:7)

6. Both prophets saw ten kings that would arise at the end of days

a. Daniel saw the ten horns were ten kings (Dan. 7:24) b. John saw ten horns with ten crowns that were ten kings (Rev. 13:1)

7. Both saw the resurrection of the dead

a. Daniel recorded a resurrection after the tribulation (Dan. 12:2) b. John saw a resurrection of those who were beheaded in the tribulation (Rev. 7:9-17)
