 The only survivors would be in mountains underground until the areas cool off  Particles would cover the earth and darken the sun for weeks or months  The food supply would be gone – starvation , pestilence, and drought kill millions

E. Are these scenarios found in Revelation?

The heat of the earth (Rev. 16:9) 6. The earth moves off its axis (Isa. 13:13) 7. Men are hiding in the mountains (Rev. 6:15-16)

Note: Notice how these judgments are parallel to the repercussions of an asteroid

WHERE WILL IT STRIKE?

A. There are several major seas and gulfs in the world:

1. The Pacific Ocean 2. The Atlantic Ocean

6. Indian Ocean 7. South China Sea 8. Gulf of Mexico 9. Caribbean Sea

3. The Mediterranean Sea – Black Sea

4. The Persian Gulf 5. The Bering Sea

10. Arctic Sea

B. The areas around Israel

1. The first possibility is the Mediterranean & Black Sea

a. An asteroid would wipe out Israel (a coastal nation), Egypt, Lebanon b. These nations exist until the end (the battles of prophecy indicate this – Dan. 11:45) c. Ships of Chittim come against antichrist (this is the region of Cypress – Dan. 11:30)

2. The second possibility is the Persian Gulf (the oil region)

a. The kings of the east go across the Euphrates River (the river dries up -Rev. 16:12) b. The spirits are loosed from the Euphrates River (Rev. 9:14) c. The antichrist will be over the oil places of Medina (Dan. 11:24) d. The antichrist kingdom experiences darkness (Rev. 16:10)

Note: The kingdom of the beast (10 kings) experience darkness, and heat gnaws tongues! (16:9-10)
