THE PALE HORSE (Revelation 6:8)

A. The fourth seal introduces the pale horse

1. The Greek word for pale is chloros, meaning a pale green color 2. The word could allude to s omething that’s sickly – caused by the beast of the field 3. Sword (war), hunger (famine), the beasts cause death of one fourth of the world (Rev. 6:8) 4. There seems to be an Islamic link when comparing these verses with Islam

A. The fifth seal reveals the martyrs

Main verse : Revelation 6:9-11

B. The tribulation martyrs

1. These people are killed in the early tribulation (by beheading - Rev. 20:4) 2. They are under the altar – the location of Paradise in the third heaven (2 Cor. 12:2) 3. The base of the altar is where sacrificial blood was poured (Ex. 29:12) 4. They are crying for vengeance and will receive it at the end (Rev. 6:10) 5. They were given white robes and were to rest for a little season (Rev. 6:11)

C. The tribulation martyrs in heaven

1. There are elders standing on the throne room floor (Rev. 4:4-6) 2. There are martyrs resting under the throne room floor (Rev. 6:9) 3. The floor of the Temple is crystal and John saw under it (Rev. 4:6)

THE COSMIC ACTIVITY

A. The sixth seal releases cosmic judgments on earth

Main Verse : Revelation 6:12-17

B. The shaking of the earth and heavens

1. In Rev. 6:12, earthquakes will shake the earth 2. In Rev. 6:12, the sun and moon are dark and bloody 3. In Rev. 6:13, the stars will fall to the earth
