THE FINAL ENEMY TO BE DEFEATED IS DEATH (Rev. 20:6)

1. The first enemy of man was death that came by sin – the last one to be defeated is death 2. There will be no more death when the Holy City comes down (spirits are eternal) 3. 1 Cor. 15:24-27 4. Death is a spirit on a horse as seen in Rev. 6:8 and hell follows him 5. Death is cast into the lake of fire meaning this spirit is completely eradicated forever

The River of life is a literal river flowing out of the throne of God!

THE CITY COMES DOWN ON THE EARTH

1. Does the city hover over the earth? 2. Does the city sit down on the earth?

Note: The base is 1500 miles square and it would take up half of the United States Note: If the city came down on America it would stretch from Maine to Florida and coast to coast

A. Outside the gates

1. The wicked are outside the gates of the city

a. Rev. 21:8 b. Rev. 22:14-15 c. This sounds as though sinners are still on the new earth living outside the gates d. This verse could refer back to Isa. 66:24

THE OVERCOMER’S PROMISES FULFILLED

A. The seven promises given to the overcomer are now fulfilled

1. We are given access to the tree of life in the Paradise of God (Rev. 2:7) 2. We are not hurt by the second death (the lake of fire - Rev. 2:11) 3. We receive hidden manna, a white stone, and a new name (Rev. 2:17) 4. We are given power over the nations (Rev. 2:26) 5. We are clothed in white raiment, confessed to the angels (Rev. 3:5) 6. We are made a pillar in the Temple and a new name written (Rev. 3:12) 7. We will be permitted to sit with Christ on his throne (Rev. 3:21)
