brother who is the spiritual covering for our ministry did n.ot have a peace about our going. We all went back to prayer, and, over the next two weeks, Elaine and I received guidance from the Lord that we should not go. So, we refused and explained our reason. A month later, this same ministry asked us again to come, and this time all three of us had an immediate peace, so we went and the Lord greatly blessed. About three months later they asked us to come out again. This time I was the only one of the three of us who did not have a peace about going. Again, we all went back to prayer about it, and the other two agreed that we should not go. As it turned out, both times, if we had gone, the consequences would have been disastrous. Later we did return a second time, and the Lord blessed as greatly as He had on the first occasion. On smaller decisions where we do not feel it necessary to bother our Christian brother, Elaine and I work on the same principle of unity. If we do not both have a complete peace with a particular course of action, we do not proceed until we do. For example, we were asked to help out with a particular deliverance. We knew the people well, and knew that they were true servants of the Lord. They were giving us only 24 hours notice, however. I felt we should go, but Elaine did not have a peace about going. So, as we did not have time to seek the Lord's will further, I told them that we would not come because we were not in unity about the situation. As it turned out, if we had gone, the conse quences would have been disastrous. Those people called us later and told us how glad they were we had not gone, that it had been a set-up by Satan to try to destroy us. Be cause we heeded the principle of unity, we were saved from one of Satan's traps. How many sad mistakes are made because husbands and wives do not function in such a manner.
