Prepare-for-War
The mind is like a muscle, it grows "flabby" with lack of use. Re-training the mind is painful just the same as re-training a flabby muscle is painful. People who have a guiding spirit do not realize just how much they depended on that guiding spirit. Often I have heard complaints that people "feel stupid" or "have difficulty thinking or remembering things" after their guiding spirit has been cast out. Demons are much more intelligent than humans. People who lose a guiding spirit will lose some intelligence because they no longer have access to information from the guiding spirit. But, no demon can come close to the incredible intelligence of the Holy Spirit which will now be available to them! The Holy Spirit will not give us information to make us look intelligent, however. The best way of re-training the mind is through scripture memory. In fact, scripture memory is essential for everyone after deliverance. It is good to do before deliverance also, because it helps overcome passivity. Scripture memory is difficult for almost everyone. Let me share with you a technique I learned which has been most helpful to me. Set aside a certain time each day for scripture memory. For me, it is the twenty minutes or so I spend each morning blow-drying my hair. Write the verse or verses you want to memorize on a 3 X 5 card. I have my cards taped on my mirror. Write the section of scripture with the reference both before and after the verses. Usually it is best if you limit it to no more than two or three verses. Then, out loud say the verses with the reference both before and after them, over and over until you can say it through three times perfectly with your eyes closed. For example: "John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16" Do this once each day. Add a new section of scripture once
