The problem is this. Most people want to make a covenant with the Lord on their terms not on God's terms! They want health and wealth and comforts and satisfactions for fleshly desires. James says it best: "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3 There are two covenants every Christian must make with the Lord. These are clearly commanded in God's word. The first is the covenant of salvation, the second is the total mastership of Jesus. No one can proceed to a deeper rela tionship with the Lord without first making these two covenants. After that, usually the Lord initiates the covenants. Be alert to the guiding of the Holy Spirit. Seek the Lord with all of your heart, and He will be found by you. He will come to you, and He will delight to make covenants with you.
