Prepare-for-War
own lives.
"(Jesus said) Uehold I give unto you power to tread on serpent-s and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Not withstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are sub ject unto you~ but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:19-20
Jesus has given us power and authority over Satan and his demons, but it is up to us to use that power and authority to deal with the demons. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7 Unfortunately, usually only the second half of this verse is quoted. I cannot emphasize enough the necessity of the first half. If we are not submitted to the Lord and obeying His commands, then we 1 cannot hope to have any power over demons. Few people are willing to get involved in the area of deliverance, and many that do, are mislead into all sorts of error and strange doctrines. Many people are in a situation where they have no one to help them except the Lord. I want you to understand that you can take up that power and authority in the name of Jesus Christ and kick the demons out of yourself. Examine your lives. What doorways have you opened in the past? Have you closed those sin doorways and com manded the demons to leave that came into you then? If not, you had better do so. Let me give you an example. About a year ago I received a letter from a young woman whom I will call Jane (not her real name). Jane is married, with two children ages two and four. She is a Christian and is married to a Christian man whom I will call John. Both Jane and John were raised in Christian homes and ac "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." James 4:8
