The second case shows the devastation of this type of abuse in a teenager. I received a call some months ago from a pastor who had been a psychiatrist before he accepted Christ. He told me the following experience of a young woman whom he had been trying to help for over a year. Until he read my book He Came To Set The Captives Free, he had been completely unable to help this young woman because he simply could not believe her story. When Sara (not her real name) was 15 years old she was picked up late one night as she was walking home from a friend's house. She was forcibly taken to a satanic ceremony. There all of her clothes were removed and she was strapped down on a stone alter. Another young woman was similarly strapped down on top of her. That young woman was tortured and eventually killed by cuts in her throat. She bled to death all over Sara. A baby and a young man were also killed during the ceremony. Then the dead body was removed from Sara and she was sexually molested by many of the members present, and received many cuts from knives, especially in her vaginal area. The pastor did not know how she managed to escape alive, she did not seem to have a clear memory of it herself. Sara did not ever join a group of satanists, neither did she become involved in the occult. However, the effect of this experience on her life was disastrous. She had frequent "flash-backs" of the torment, and often awakened at night with all the physical feelings of being forcibly raped, al though no physical being was present. She also continually had the feeling of a knife being present in her pelvic area, al though X-rays and medical examination revealed nothing. She had severe bouts of depression and had tried to commit suicide on more than one occasion.
