he (Jesus] obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.•• Hebrews 8:1-6.
This "better covenant" refers to God's promises which were fulfilled when Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross to bring us into a relationship as sons and daughters of God and joint heirs with Christ in eternity.
"There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall tum away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins." Romans 11:26,27
God makes a covenant with each one of us when we ask Jesus to forgive our sins and to become our Lord and Savior and Master. Most Christians stop at that point, but that is not the desire of God's heart; We are so privileged, God has a special plan for each one of our lives and a special job for each one of us to do. If we would only be willing for Him to have His way with our lives, many times God would speak to us through the Holy Spirit, letting us know that He desires to make a covenant with us even as He did with Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua and so on, down through the pages of scripture. Covenanting with God has been a very important part <,f my life, and the one most important thing which has provid ed me with stability during the last seven years of deep war fare against Satan. Let me share some of these covenants with you in hopes of helping you to understand this impor tant principle. I am a covenant child. My parents were both 36 years old when they got married. It was a first marriage for both of them, and they were both Christians. They had my brother when my mom was 40 years old and the doctor told her she could not have any more children.
