Surya Namm;kar- also called the "Sun Salutation." Series of positions used in the West for "warm-up" exercises in yoga. Each position is a pos ture of worship of the sun god. (Called Baal in the Bible.) Traditionally it is performed at dawn. facing the rising sun.
